The Niagara Arts & Cultural Center is pleased to announce a solo exhibit of wood-based crafts and artwork by local artists, Bryan Maacks. Maacks’ artistic practice is informed by recycled and salvaged wood, which is transformed into wall-based artwork as well as usable objects like jewelry boxes, trays, incense cones, and more.

About Bryan Maacks

My name is Bryan Maacks, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, also a long-time woodworker. The creative side of me started at a young age. Making things for friends and family. I realized that woodworking allowed me to express myself and made me the happiest.

Being self-taught and going through many phases of woodworking. Eventually I started looking for my identity, a way to be different. Creating a process where I combine plywood endgrains with solid woods. Giving a Unique look to my functional art, which I call MOXES BOXES. Also allowing me to express my thoughts with my wall art I call MYGRAIN.
