Memory Cafe at the NACC

All Memory Cafe sessions will take place from 11:00AM-12:00PM on the 2nd Wednesday, and 3rd Saturday of each month, in the NACC’s Townsend Gallery, located through the accessible Red Door entrance located at Portage Road on the NACC’s campus. All are free and open to the public.

The NACC Memory Cafe, Meet Me at the Art Gallery sessions will last approximately one hour and include live music, and an open art gallery with refreshments where participants can experience and respond to music and works of art. 

To RSVP please email the Executive Director, Jennifer at jennifer@thenacc.org, however, no prior registration is necessary to attend. 

Memory Cafe at the NACC is made possible by The Exhale Program, Exhale and its funders (the Ralph C. What is a Memory Café?

Memory cafés are welcoming social gatherings for people living with changes in their memory or thinking, and the people who care about them. A Memory Café is a place to have fun together, talk with others who understand what you’re going through, and to try something new!

What is TimeSlips?

Timeslips is a communication method that invites people into meaningful creative engagement. It can enliven any conversation – remotely or in-person. Originally designed for people with dementia, it has been applied across generations, cultures, and abilities.

How Much does it Cost to Attend?

Admission: Complimentary thanks to a generous grant from the Boston Foundation. However, to help keep the program going donations are gladly accepted.

Where Do I Park?

There are several parking options within a short walk to the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center. The NACC has a FREE handicap parking lot for guests located on Portage Road. During the summer months you may also ride the free Discover Niagara Shuttle and be dropped off right at our front door!

How Accessible is the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center?

The RED DOOR on Portage Road is handicap accessible. Events for Memory Café take place on the first floor and a family style restroom is located across from the reception desk.

An elevator is available for those wishing to further explore the building

Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis from the reception desk in the Main Lobby.

Volunteer with Us

With this new program we are seeking volunteers to assist in facilitating twice monthly Memory Cafes at the NACC.  All NACC Meet Me at the Gallery, Memory Cafe sessions will take place from 11:00AM-12:00PM, and all are free and open to the public.
