Artists’ Statement

With a lifelong affinity for sketching and painting, I specialize in painting natural landscapes. My mediums are both watercolor and oil paints. The seasons provide constant change and unending interest.  Niagara Falls and the surrounding area offer a wealth of opportunities and subjects. During twenty years of regular visits to Maine, the coastal area has become a major focus of my painting. A variety of tours and travels have also provided plenty of references for painting. Currently I enjoy painting for friends, family, selected shows, and charity auctions. Together with my husband, a poet, writer, and photographer, we create calendars that incorporate our paintings and poems.  We also produce picture books for children. Most recently, I am emphasizing plein air painting opportunities, which allow for immersion in the natural landscape.
