The NACC Gallery Committee is seeking works for the 15th Annual Beyond the Barrel Exhibition. This year’s theme centers on Niagara’s Legacy as the “PowerCity”, inspired by the development of hydroelectric technology in Niagara Falls, which involved such names as Edison, Tesla, Westinghouse and Kelvin and heralded a transformation in American life. This year we encourage our artists to explore the meaning of the word “power” through their work and reflect on both metaphoric and literal interpretations of this theme.

This open exhibition will accept works of all mediums, two and three dimensional.

Suggested Themes:
Power, Powered. Empowerment, Energy, Leadership, Innovation, Creativity, Mighty Niagara, Industry, Electricity, Powerless, Post-Industrial, Experimental, Innovative, Control

The Beyond the Barrel: Power Exhibit will be on display in the Townsend Gallery. In compliment to this Exhibit, the Emerging Artists Exhibit in the Garden Gallery encourages new artists to harness the innovative, experimental spirit of Niagara’s engineers and inventors. Both Emerging Artists & Beyond the Barrel open on July 13th, 2019 at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center
