Galleries at The NACC
The
NACC is very proud to have two galleries. The Main Gallery opened
on February 8, 2002. Once the NF High School cafeteria; now, it is an
uninterrupted, 3600 square foot, brightly lit space that is handicap
accessible. The Garden Gallery is located on the second
floor. Once the school’s foyer; now, it is a wonderful
space for exhibits and receptions. Each year, as many as, six exhibitions are held in the Main Gallery and six exhibits in the Garden Gallery. The openings are held concurrently and have grown in popularity. The “Beyond the Barrel” Exhibition debuted in 2004 in the Main Gallery. By 2005, “Beyond the Barrel” expanded its vision to become a juried exhibition - open to artists working and living in the eight counties of WNY and Southern Ontario. In 2006, Citibank became the corporate sponsor for the exhibition. In 2010, the NACC was a venue for the NY State Parks Department 125th Celebration – with the Maid of the Mist, Inc. participating as a major sponsor. Each year, in November, the NACC “Artists and Friends” Exhibition in the Main Gallery is part of the NACC open galleries and open studios event. Artists exhibit original works in a variety of media in both galleries. The event has grown so much that it has become the NACC “Holiday Extravaganza” featuring: ˇ The NACC annual membership meeting ˇ The NACC “Artists and Friends Exhibition” in the Main Gallery ˇ A “one-person” show in the Garden Gallery ˇ A variety of live entertainment throughout the hallways and on stage in the Grand Theater ˇ The NACC Artisan Café and Gift Shop ˇ A live Santa and Mrs. Clause with the elves. ˇ As a venue on the “Niagara Holiday Lights Trail.” The NACC’s columns and landscape will be lighted to welcome all to celebrate the holiday season.
