Beverley Ann Kammer Feder was born in Niagara Falls, New York. As a child she lived in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She received twenty years of ballet training at the Spear School of Ballet Arts and the National Ballet School of Canada.
Beverley Ann is married to Dr. H. William Feder and together they have raised three children: Colleen, Kevin, and Cara. They also have four grandchildren: Matthew, Zachary, Kelsey, and Gabriella.
Mrs. Feder is the owner and principle instructor of the Feder School of Classical Ballet in Niagara Falls, New York and Ontario. Under the direction of her long-time teacher, Jean Spear, Mrs. Feder earned a Licentiate Teachers Certification in Sarasota Florida. She also has earned an Advanced Certificate in Lillishall, England. In 1994, Mrs. Feder was awarded the distinction of “fellow” of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance from London, England.
In addition to the numerous accomplishments of Mrs. Feder’s career, she recently presented a demonstration of the Cecchetti Syllabi for a teacher’s training session at Etobicoke in Toronto. Mrs. Feder also teaches for the Cecchetti Day at the National Ballet School in Toronto. Last summer, Mrs. Feder taught the opening class for the Cecchetti Society Summer School in Sarasota Florida.
“The Love of Dance – The Beverley Feder Story”, a video written and produced by John Takacs, is a well-deserved tribute to a woman whose life-long dedication to the art of ballet founded the Greater Niagara Ballet Company (formerly known as the Niagara Civic Ballet) over thirty years ago. The production was sponsored by a grant from the Niagara Council of the Arts. Mrs. Feder is grateful for the community support in past years and states that her experience with the Greater Niagara Ballet Company has been extremely rewarding. “I would like to see our company continue to be a leader for quality ballet”.

Our goal is to bring high quality live performances to the stage, from original, premiere works to established and popular shows, to never before seen concepts all while maintaining the same indie/ punk rock attitude brought to the table by our founders.

While primarily a painter, I often combine painting with other media. At the heart of this work is the process of synthesis, a “putting or placing of things together.” The combining of disparate ideas and media that interact together to create new relationships and perspectives intrigue me.
I focus on the figure in order to address fundamental and contemporary human concerns; birth, suffering, innocence, vulnerability, technology dependence, economic disparity, aging and death. My work is highly influenced by my years working in human services. I freely employ and re-contextualize Judeo-Christian imagery, though I do not intend these images to be primarily religious in nature. I desire to create work that is conceptual as well as humanist, critical as well as aesthetic.
The Greater Niagara Ballet Company (GNBC), previously known as the Niagara Civic Ballet, was founded in 1967 by Beverly Feder and reorganized in 1999 as a 501 C3 federal status not-for-profit organization. By becoming not-for-profit, the GNBC is better able to serve the Niagara Region. The GNBC is the only local ballet company serving the artistic needs of dancers in both the United States and Canada.
For over forty years, the GNBC, with Beverley Feder as its artistic director, has developed a repertoire of over 21 different major ballet productions. Productions include Degas, Swan Lake and our most well known and beloved, Nutcracker, now in its 35th year. Venues have included the Niagara Falls High School Center for Performing Arts, Niagara University and Artpark in the United States and Brock University in Canada .
The GNBC productions are open to all ballet students in the U.S. and Canada by audition and provide students with the unique opportunity to partner with professional dancers and perform in large scale theatrical settings. Guest Artists come from internationally known ballet companies such as the National Ballet Company of Annapolis, Maryland, State School of Ballet, Paznan, Poland, the National Ballet of Canada, Toronto, Canada and the New York Theater Ballet, New York, New York.
